About / FAQs

We hope you’ll find answers to your questions here. If not, get in touch!

  • What will I learn during my lesson?
  • Simply put, whatever you like! Rachel is experienced in a wide range of cuisines, so whether you want to learn how to cook a signature dish, get to grips with specific skills, or work with some key ingredients, she will be delighted to help!
  • What does the lesson include?
  • The lesson includes all ingredients, recipes and tuition from a professional chef.
  • Where do lessons take place?
  • Lessons can be held in your home, in Rachel’s Kitchen in NW6 for up to 3 people, or in a hired venue for an additional fee. For larger groups, hired kitchens are often advisable, and Rachel can suggest some great options depending on numbers and location.
  • What equipment do I need to have?
  • One of the benefits of having a lesson in your own kitchen is that you use your own equipment and will easily be able to make the dishes again. When you book a class, we will discuss what equipment you have in your kitchen so that we can bring anything extra that we might need. For group classes Rachel will provide all equipment.
  • What should I wear?
  • It’s best to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little messy, as well as flat, comfortable shoes. Rachel will provide aprons, so you don’t need to bring your own.
  • How much time should I allow for my lesson?
  • Lesson times vary depending on what we're making and the group size and age. Most classes last approximately 3 hours. You can then enjoy the food you've made, and could even invite friends to join you!
  • What happens if I need to cancel or rearrange my lesson?
  • Once you have confirmed the date for the lesson, we will ask you to pay a deposit. If you need to re-schedule or cancel, we will always do our best to help.
If you cancel more than 7 days in advance of the date booked, we will give you a full refund, or the option to book another date. If you need to cancel in the week before the class, the deposit will be non-refundable, as we will have already bought ingredients and other equipment for your class.
  • How do I book?
  • The best way to book is to fill out the enquiry form by clicking the 'enquire now' button at the top of this page. We will get back to you as soon possible.
  • I live outside of London. Can I still have a lesson?
  • We generally serve London postcodes (W, WC, E, EC, N, NW, SW, SE) but can often help if you live outside this area for an additional fee. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
  • I’m only available during the day/at weekends/in the evening. Is that ok?
  • That's fine. Rachel's Kitchen lessons can be booked for whenever is convenient for you.
  • Can I buy a gift voucher?
  • Yes, click the link at the top of the page to find out more. We can email gift vouchers to you or to the recipient, and they are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. You can also include an apron as an extra special gift.
  • Do you offer any discounts?
  • For hen, stag and birthday parties, we can offer groups of 12 or more discounted rates. Please ask for more details.
  • What about allergies or dietary requirements?
  • Please let us know if there's anything we need to be aware of on the enquiry form, and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements.
